Building trust on foundations of steel

Pre-engineered buildings are portions of a building that are built in the factory, and ultimately assembled to build an edifice. The parts, which are assembled prior to the final on-site assembly, are referred to as prefabricated, and steel is the most commonly used component in a PEB structure. Prefabricated metal buildings offer the benefits of being less costly than traditional masonry construction, flexibility of design, durability and more environmentally friendly. In India, the technology was first introduced by top PEB structure manufacturer, Interarch Building products Pvt. Ltd. in a market that was still unorganized and dominated by traditional building methods.

Interarch’s prefabricated steel buildings have found widespread application in industries such as hotels, warehouses, factories, aircraft hangars, cold storages, workshops, stadiums, supermarkets, malls and multi-level car parks and even high-rise residential buildings. This is evident from the company’s remarkable list of satisfied client portfolio. The Indira Gandhi International Terminus 3 of the Delhi airport is a case in point.

What makes Interarch prefabricated metal buildings so popular?

Apart from timely delivery and completion of projects, certified project managers and builders and superior quality, Interarch provides state-of-the-art technology with 360-degree solutions customized to client needs.

The steel structures within Interarch’s pre-engineered steel buildings are what impart the metal buildings with their unique qualities of speed and flexibility. This system consists of factory-fabricated steel columns and beam segments that are eventually bolted together at the site of the construction. The columns and beams are pre-fabricated through I-section portions that have an end plate with holes for bolting at both ends. There are five main types of structural components that make up the steel frame of prefabricated metal buildings - tension members, compression members, bending members, combined force members and their connections. Each of these members have their own structural application. The connections join these members together, ensuring they function as one unit, and are what finally bring entire building together.

A special kind of metal, structural steel is used as the construction material for the skeletal steel structures. This structural steel is manufactured in a specific shape or cross section, with certain chemical compositions and mechanical properties. Having pioneered the very concept of PEB in India, Interarch now manufactures the best quality of structural steel systems in their state of the art manufacturing plants in Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu. An Interarch steel building also offers the added benefits of weather-tight roof and wall coverings with accessories for maintenance-free exteriors.

Interarch Buildings started their operations in India way in 1984, when the industry was still unaware of the advantages of commercial steel buildings. Interarch has been instrumental in playing a crucial role among industry leaders to develop and popularize the PEB technology in the Indian market. The company has successfully completed over 5000 metal building and structures in India, from the planning to the completion stage. Interarch Infrastructure has been recently constituted as a subsidiary of the parent company, to cater to the demand of large projects and heavy steel application.
