How Has the Market for PEBs Evolved in India During Past Few Years?

The journey of PEB in India is remarkable in such a short span of time. Sectors such as automotive, power, logistics, Pharma, FMCG, and retail provide huge growth opportunity for PEB in India. Though, it is said that the PEB industry is still in its infancy but, over the last six years there has been a growth in this sector due to increasing awareness amongst consultants and customers. It would certainly not be an exaggeration if we say the industry is catching-up very rapidly.

In fact, pre engineered buildings sector has started getting its due credit as a favorable alternative construction methodology in India today. There is undoubtedly, a very promising future for this sector in the coming years.

The Indian PEB market is now experiencing a demand shift to new applications due to infrastructure development in the country like airports, multi-story buildings, stadiums, Metro Stations etc.

The success of any business depends on how cost effective it is to run and how effective is the product for the consumer. Both these factors deliver extremely positive results as far as pre engineered steel buildings are concerned. This is one of the prime reasons for their success and also the entry of various enterprises in the segment.

The growth of the pre-engineered buildings market lead to a sudden spurt in the number of companies involved in the business. But, being a highly technical and ever-evolving industry, not many were able to cope with it. Historically, Peb buildings took shape and gained popularity in the west. The concept was adapted in India later seeing the cost effectiveness of these structures. They last long and are faster in construction. This cut input cost for enterprises and thus, PEB structures became a hit. But, these structures rely a lot on technology.

Most of their designs are made on computers and evolve with changes in technology. In fact, it is this technical expertise, which is important in the cost saving element of pre-engineered buildings.
